January 3: EHR Registration Begins!

For over a year, the Health Law Attorney Blog has reported on many of the electronic health records (EHR) incentive payment updates (the most recent entry from July 13, 2010). Beginning today, eligible professionals, hospitals and critical access hospitals may begin registering for incentive payments for demonstrating meaningful use of certified EHR technology. Certified EHR technology gives assurance to purchasers and other users that an EHR system or module offers the necessary technological capability, functionality, and security to help them meet the meaningful use criteria.
